If you’ve been reading Blind Audacity for a while, you probably know this newsletter has never really been about blinds.
Yes… we talked about shades, shutters, naked windows, installs, clients, mistakes, wins, and lessons from the field. But at its heart, Blind Audacity has always been about something else:
Courage.
Movement.
Reinvention.
And taking chances before you feel ready…
A few years ago, Ana and I did something that, looking back, was either very brave… or very crazy.
We moved to Tampa without a plan, without a safety net, and without ever visiting the city before.
No scouting trips. No long-term strategy. Just a feeling, a leap of faith, and a lot of audacity.
Hence… Blind Audacity.
What we didn’t realize at the time was that the Florida package also came with a few bonus features…
Sun ✔️
Palm trees ✔️
Warm winters ✔️
And… hurricanes ️✔️
Those were never part of the plan, but somehow, they were bundled together… lol
And then came the premium add-ons:
Rebuilding.
Red tape.
Stop-work orders.
Paperwork marathons.
And a brand-new skill called “extra patience while waiting.”
Also part of the free upgrade.
This newsletter started as a reflection of that season of life — when everything felt uncertain, exciting, and slightly terrifying at the same time.
And somehow…it worked.
However, part of our move to Florida was also very intentional.
After many intense years growing Shades In Place, chasing deadlines, and running nonstop, I wanted something different.
I wanted to focus more on personal projects. Write a book. Travel a bit more. Work a bit less. And… smell the roses a bit too.
That book is now becoming real. It’s called “Nobody Told Me That.”
And as this project took shape, I realized something important: Blind Audacity had done its job.
It captured a season of courage, chaos, reinvention, and learning.
But the stories…
The reflections…
The lessons…
They were asking for a new home.
So instead of one newsletter trying to be everything, I’m creating clear homes for each part of my world — all connected, all intentional.
We Dress Naked Windows
This will be the new newsletter for Shades In Place. Products. Options. Trends. Advice on how to dress your windows beautifully (and properly ) — with Brazilian flair and zesty humor.
Stories in Motion
This is where my heart will live. Life stories. Business reflections. Lessons, failures, courage, humor and the journey behind Nobody Told Me That. If you enjoyed the storytelling side of Blind Audacity, this is your new home.
All of this now lives under one HUB I’m building:
Think of it as an airport terminal for my world — Different destinations. Same standards. Same voice. Same values.
But before I close this chapter, I want to say this from the heart:
Thank you…
Thank you for reading.
Thank you for replying.
Thank you for laughing with me.
Thank you for trusting me.
Blind Audacity started as a leap into the unknown.
It became a voice.
A journal.
A companion.
And while this is the last issue under this name…
The story is very much still being written.
Now it’s simply…
In motion.
With gratitude, always,
Roger Magalhães
